Important Dates for your Property Taxes
July 3
- Deadline to pay your rural property taxes
- Deadline to apply for the home owner grant without late payment penalties
- Deadline to apply to defer your property taxes without late payment penalties
- Deadline to apply for the Farm Extension Program
July 4
- A 5% penalty is applied to your unpaid account balance, including any unclaimed home owner grant
August 23
- A Statement of Account is mailed out to you if you have an unpaid account balance from a previous year. You will continue to receive monthly statements until your account balance has been paid
October 31
- Deadline to pay your property taxes if you are in the Farm Extension Program
November 1
- An additional 5% penalty is applied to your unpaid account balance, including any unclaimed home owner grant
- A 10% penalty is applied to your unpaid account balance if you are in the Farm Extension Program
December 31
- Deadline to apply for the current year home owner grant (penalties apply)
- Deadline to apply for last year’s home owner grant retroactively
- Deadline to apply to defer your property taxes(penalties apply)
